BLE device not showing on iPhone: a practical checklist
Check Bluetooth availability, peripheral advertising and scan filters before debugging the protocol.
Start with discovery
Core Bluetooth discovers peripherals that are advertising. Confirm the accessory is powered on and running firmware that advertises its BLE service. A device being nearby does not by itself guarantee it can be discovered.
Check the app’s view
Allow Bluetooth access, keep the app in the foreground and start a scan. In Bluetooth Tool - Debug, clear active search or device filters before deciding that discovery failed. Compare the device name, advertised services and signal information with your accessory documentation.
Separate discovery from communication
Seeing an advertisement is the first step. Connecting, discovering GATT services and receiving application data are separate checks. Save the observed name and service details, then inspect characteristics after connecting. Avoid changing several filters or firmware settings at once.
Try the free tools
Scanning, advertisement inspection and GATT exploration are included in the free app. Compatible BLE hardware is required for live communication.
